c'mon, sing it with me

"We're caught in a trap, I can't walk out...
because I love you too much baby..."

jumped into the honda today and brought it to work. which was nice. woke up extra late (11ish), lolled around for a couple more hours (mostly reading archie digests and playing playstation with my adorable baby brother), and when it was time to head to work (2ish), i realized that my car was "banned". we have this shitty traffic situation here in manila, so my car is "banned" one day a week.

(sidebar: this traffic thing really mystifies me as we are, supposedly, "poor". if time magazine is to be believed, 90 percent of us are considered to be below the poverty line. but if this is so, why is it that our more than adequate roads are always clogged with jaguars, volvos and stupid SUVs? it's all crap, that's what it is.)

anyway, as my car was banned, i took the other car - a souped-up honda that flies like the wind. found myself racing down C5 like a maniac (120 kph, i think) - and i was just on fourth gear! curly hair dancing around my head like crazy, "suspicious minds" playing over and over again, and not a care in the world.

(another sidebar: my own 10-year-old lancer's cd player is dead, so i was overjoyed with this one's lovely sound system. i should get my own fixed, but there are just other things i need to spend on, you know. like shoes. or really expensive gourmet ice cream.)

anyway, the honda's brakes were a bit iffy, so i found myself weaving around cars instead of slowing down. it was quite nice. it would've been better if i had just ditched work altogether and headed straight for this casino up in the mountains, just about 80 kms away. but you can't have everything, right? right. wait. have to do the news. crap.
